Dubai, UAE: Snap Inc. has partnered with the Minister of State for the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications to launch a new AR lens to raise awareness of the Ghaf tree; the national tree of the UAE, by supporting Goumbook’s “Give a Ghaf” tree planting programme.
The initiative was On the occasion of the UAE’s 51st National Day, it represented a unique event that showcased how Augmented Reality (AR) can be used to help make the UAE greener, while raising awareness and engaging with the Snapchat community. The program is part of Snap’s global AR for Good initiative and the first to launch in the MENA region.
This National Day, Snapchatters will be able to plant a virtual Ghaf tree through an AR lens, and Snap has pledged to support their efforts by planting up to 1,000 trees.
