Residents recalled that they sometimes had to postpone meetings because of test requirements.

Since last year, some UAE residents who need to travel to Abu Dhabi to work have undergone more than 100 RT-PCR tests before entering the emirate. Therefore, the capital’s relaxed entry regulations — which will take effect tomorrow — are a relief.

According to reports, tourists no longer need to show Covid-19 test reports at the border before entering the emirate. Updated program The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Committee issued a statement on the Covid-19 pandemic on Saturday.

Arijit Nandi, an Indian expat who traveled from Dubai to the Abu Dhabi office every day, recalled that he needed to be checked regularly:

Nandi said that sometimes he had to postpone important meetings because he could not reach the capital.

“I was even asked to return from the border at least three or four times. The problem I faced was that the AlHosn app was not updated in time, even though I received the test report via email.

He added: “Although as residents, we do understand that the policy was introduced to curb the spread of Covid-19, and the UAE has always been at the forefront in ensuring the safety of everyone.”
