Bader Al Shuaibi and Bashar al-Shatti are the first artists to sign with Sony Music Middle East
Partnership with GHMZA will see a new wave of Khaleeji pop artists emerge in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region
Dubai/Kuwait City, 19 October 2022 – Ghmza, Sony Music Entertainment’s Middle East and Kuwait creative studio, music and video production company, today announced a new partnership to produce music and promote emerging Khaleeji pop artists in the Middle East.
Under this partnership, the famous actor and Arab pop singer Bader Al Shuaibiand Kuwaiti singer, songwriter and TV personality Bashar Shati Will be the first two artists to work with Sony Music Middle East under the new partnership.
Khaleeji, a pioneer in the reinvention of pop music, Bader Al Shuaibi With over 1 billion audio and video streams and 3 million social media followers, his career has seen him pioneering new sounds and styles. He released his first single ‘and hob‘ with Sony Music Middle East on announcement day, with exciting new music video. Bader Al Shuaibi also plans to release more singles and a new album later this year, and is expected to be a major breakthrough for global Arab talent in 2023.

Bashar Shatiknown for his songs halbi habib and Habib Eldonia, and former Arab Idol judge, will release his first single on Sony Music Middle East in November 2022, with more projects lined up until the new year.

The collaboration comes at a time when the MENA region has become one of the fastest growing regions in music.according to IFPI 2022 Global Music Report, more than half (54%) of people in the MENA region have listened to at least one Middle Eastern music genre, and revenue in the region increased by 35%. Through Sony Music Middle East’s partnership with Ghmza, the company seeks to contribute to the growth of the industry by supporting and nurturing creative talent from the Middle East, its belief in Khaleeji pop and the genre’s emergence as a MENA voice. This will also expand Sony Music Entertainment’s footprint in the region.
