Equipped with cameras and laser sensors, the robot will patrol predetermined routes to check for potential issues such as child/car safety, fire risk and illegal parking, HL Mando said.

If the trial run is successful, the company plans to roll out the robots nationwide next year.

“We will conduct daytime test runs of the patrol robot throughout this year, but once it is fully commercialized, it will be able to patrol around the clock,” an HL Mando spokesperson told UPI News Korea.

“The robot is programmed to alert the control center if any potential problem is detected so that appropriate action can be taken,” he said.

HL Mando has been working on autonomous patrol robots for the past few years, testing various prototypes in places like parks and factories.

“Together with AJ Daewon, we will be able to bring unmanned patrol robots with practical uses to people. We will continue to leverage our technological strengths to develop unique AI products,” Choi Sung-ho, executive vice president of HL Mando, said in an interview explain. statement.

Shares of HL Mando rose 1.33% on the Korea Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
