Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (Kezad), Abu Dhabi’s integrated economic and industrial hub, has signed a land lease agreement with Spain’s Tubacex Group to develop a 50,000 sqm OCTG-CRA Tube Solutions manufacturing unit within its facilities.
The plant, the first of its kind in the Middle East, is expected to be operational by the end of 2024.
OCTG (oil well tubing) is tubing used in onshore and offshore oil and gas production, while corrosion-resistant alloys are metals designed to resist degradation by oxidation or other chemical reactions.
CRA composite steel pipe is composed of conventional carbon steel or low alloy steel pipe and corrosion resistant alloy layer.
Tubacex, a global leader in the design, manufacture and installation of advanced industrial products and high value-added services for the energy and transportation sectors, has established a significant presence in the UAE with its production facilities located in Dubai.
The Spanish group brings value to its customers through its global presence, with production plants and service centers in Spain, Austria, Italy, USA, India, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Norway, Canada, Singapore, Guyana and Kazakhstan.
This new facility will enable Tubacex to establish a strong presence in the UAE while gaining access to its global network of clients.
According to Kezad, the company provides a wide range of stainless steel tube solutions to the energy market and operates as a fully integrated one-stop shop.
