The special passport was first introduced at the Montreal Expo in 1967. Since then, it has become one of the most popular Expo souvenirs for tourists because it has got its mark on every pavilion they visit.
“The Expo 2020 version (passport) is inspired by the UAE tradition, linking the past with the present. This 50-page booklet is shaped like an official passport and contains three themed pavilions (possible tasks-Opportunity Pavilion, Alif- -Mobility Pavilion and Terra-Sustainability Pavilion) and Al Wasl Plaza-Crown’s design and pictures, the jewel of the Expo Site-plus other Dubai landmarks, such as the city’s iconic skyline, and other UAE-related Elements,” the Expo team said on Thursday.

The yellow, customizable passport also has its own enhanced security features: a unique number, an area containing passport-sized photos, personal details and hidden watermark images on each page, ensuring that no two documents are the same.
As the UAE celebrates its 50th anniversary, the passport pays tribute to the country’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. It contains a special page embossed with gold leaf and a photo of the UAE celebrating the birth of the country in 1971. On December 2, Expo visitors will also receive exclusive stamps commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the UAE.
