The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is known to usher in the New Year with epic, record-breaking fireworks displays, and this year December 31 will be another stunning night of celebration. As in previous years, many emirates have some spectacular fireworks planned for 2023.

We have prepared a list of the best places in the UAE where you can celebrate the New Year with spectacular fireworks.

New Year’s fireworks in Dubai

Dubai prepares to celebrate the New Year with breathtaking fireworks displays at 30 picturesque locations across the city. A number of well-known hotels, tourist hotspots and public areas will stage wonderful New Year’s Eve fireworks displays. Many famous Dubai landmarks such as Dubai Frame, Bluewaters, The Beach, JBR and Burj Al Arab will have their exhibits to usher in the New Year 2023.

As the clock strikes midnight, the Dubai Fountain’s orchestrated water show will be synchronized with the much-anticipated fireworks from the world’s tallest skyscraper. For the best and least disturbed view of the towers, we recommend making a reservation at one of the many restaurants in downtown Dubai, such as Souk Al Bahar or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. This time, the Burj Khalifa also wants to break the world record for the largest laser display.

The DSF Drone Light Show will be held at JBR’s Bluewaters and The Beach on December 31 at 8pm and 11pm. light. Diners can reserve front-row seats at one of several nearby eateries.

The show will consist of two light displays, the first of which will take viewers to the Dubai Shopping Festival through a simulation of a visitor’s day in life. The second show, set in a futuristic metaverse, will offer viewers an immersive look at Dubai in 2050.

The Lights of Dubai exhibition, featuring stunning light displays created by top media artists, will also illuminate the city. It will be exhibited at City Walk, Pointe Nakheel Mall and Dubai Design District.

With many time zones celebrating New Years, locals might ring the 2023 bells seven times on New Year’s Eve if they plan to visit the Global Village. Fireworks will celebrate the start of the New Year at 8:00 pm in the Philippines, 9:00 pm in Thailand, 10:00 pm in Bangladesh, 10:30 pm in India, 11:00 pm in Pakistan, 12:00 am in the United Arab Emirates :00 in Turkey.

New Year’s Eve celebrations in the UAE capital are traditionally spectacular, with dazzling fireworks, drone shows and live entertainment. For the 40-minute New Year’s Eve fireworks, Abu Dhabi will strive to break three Guinness World Records.

Al Wathba’s record-breaking fireworks display

The extravagant 40-minute NYE Fireworks Display will be part of the Sheikh Zayed New Year’s Eve celebrations and will be held at Al Wathba. The New Year’s fireworks display in the last hours of 2022 will use more than 3,000 drones to light up the sky, striving to set new world records in terms of number, time and formation.

Plus, there is a wide variety of entertainment options for people of all ages, including children. Circus acts, games at Funfair City and other forms of entertainment will be on offer.

On New Years, Al Maryah Island will display a 10-minute midnight fireworks display, visible from its promenade. Book a table at The Galleria, Four Seasons or one of the Rosewood’s many restaurants and you’ll get a great view of the fireworks.

Abu Dhabi Corniche

The Abu Dhabi Corniche is the perfect place to watch the fireworks display for free. Children’s play areas, cycling and walking paths, cafes, restaurants and coastal beaches are all along the 8km stretch.Fireworks will start at 12:00 noon

Yas Bay Waterfront

At 9pm and midnight, two New Year’s fireworks displays will be set off from the Yas Bay waterfront. If you want a front-row seat to the fireworks, book a table in advance at one of the many fine dining restaurants on the promenade.

Hazza bin Zayed Stadium

There will also be a free New Year’s Eve fireworks display at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain at midnight.

Kasbah Zayed

Madinat Zayed, located in the Al Dhafrah district known for its stunning desert scenery, is planning to hold a fireworks display. There is no fee for New Year’s Eve events starting at midnight.

In addition to Madinat Zayed, Tal Mor’eb at Liwa, Ghayathi and Al Mirfa beaches will hold New Year’s Eve fireworks in the Al Dhafrah area.

Saadiyat Beach Club

If you’re looking for a more luxurious setting, Saadiyat Beach Club welcomes in the new year with its unique fireworks display. To secure a seat, you have to reserve a table well in advance.The package costs AED 699 per adult and the beach club will open for celebrations at 7.30pm

New Year’s Fireworks in Sharjah

According to an announcement from the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and the Sharjah Business and Tourism Development Authority, the following venues will host the fireworks displays:

Al Majaz Waterfront

Al Majaz Waterfront will light up the Khalid Lagoon with an 8-minute New Year’s Eve fireworks display. On 31 December 2022, the venue will also host additional performances starting at 7.45pm

Al Noor Island will be hosting a special setting for the New Year’s celebrations, so you can watch these vibrant fireworks displays from there too.

Khorfakkan Beach

From 7.45pm, families and children can enjoy the LED, fire and bubble show at Khorfakkan Beach as part of the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

New Year’s Fireworks in Ajman

The Ajman Tourism Development Department also highlighted the scheduled fireworks display along the Ajman Corniche in an Instagram post. The show program lasts five minutes and is free to all guests.

New Year’s fireworks in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah aims to ensure that the new year also gets off to a great start. The emirate’s evening planning committee is gearing up for another spectacular New Year’s fireworks display that will break the Guinness World Record. The first attempt was the most remotely operated multicopter/drone simultaneous firework launch and the second attempt was the highest altitude multicopter/drone firework display.

The event will feature a 12-minute fireworks display that will light up the night sky. It will include flaming drones, nano lights, colors and shapes that sync with electronic sounds. The fireworks will stretch 4.7 kilometers along the coastline between Al Marjan Island and the village of Al Hamra. The show is being promoted under the hashtag #RAKNYE2023. While children under 12 are admitted for free, all adults pay an entry fee of Dh10.
