The Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center (ADSCC) has deployed a novel point-of-care solution that enables its doctors and pharmacists to prescribe safe and effective medications for specific patients and avoid any potential adverse drug reactions.
The center implemented Israel’s Seegnal solution at a hospital in Abu Dhabi. Seegnal provides precise medication decision support software to physicians at the point of care and pharmacists at the point of distribution.
Considering hundreds of patient-specific parameters, Seegnal alerts with unmatched accuracy for possible adverse drug reactions, not only eliminating drug interactions, but also allowing for precise drug therapy, including pharmacogenomics (the study of genes that influence a person’s drug response research), improving the lives of millions of patients every day.
It will help deliver integrated, evidence-based precision medicine in line with ADSCC’s national flagship pharmacogenomics program, employing the most innovative drug-related pharmacogenomic decision support tools to enhance patient care while dramatically reducing healthcare expenditures.
The collaboration between ADSCC and Seegnal was facilitated by Haran Cap. It was announced during the 21st BioMed Israel 2023, Israel’s premier international life science and health technology conference, attended by senior officials from ADSCC, including Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Bone Marrow Transplant Program; and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Maysoon Alkaram.
