After a brief stint in the UFC, Filipino-American fighter Mark Striegl is back in the cage with a different organization.
Striegl will take his talents to the desert to take on Italian Walter Cogliandro in UAE Warriors 39 on March 18, 2023 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Striegl, 34, has fought his last two fights in the UFC. He lost two fights against Said Numagomedov and Chas Kelly and was released by the UFC.
Before the two losses, Strigel had a five-game winning streak at ONE Championship and URCC.
Like Striegl, Cogliandro has dropped his last two games. He lost to Jae Hyuk Bang by unanimous decision at Brave CF and to Yves Landu at Bellator FC by unanimous decision.
Striegl is 18-4 with 14 submission wins, while Cogliandro is 11-4-1 with five stoppage wins.
Joevincent So and Coline Biron also competed in the same race.
So (9-3) will face Brazilian veteran Isaac Pimentel (17-10).
So expect to keep his undefeated streak alive and look forward to his sixth straight win.
Meanwhile, Pimentel is coming to an end of a long layoff. He last competed in 2020, losing to Thai warrior Topnoi Kiwram.
Biron (1-1) takes on Argentina’s Maria Eugenia Zbrun (1-0) in the women’s strawweight bout. / arrive
