U.S. “strongly disagrees” China Tries to Raise Claims to Indian TerritoryArunachal Pradesh passed the renaming of places, the White House said on Tuesday.

“This is yet another attempt by China to claim sovereignty over our Indian territory. So, as you know, the US has long recognized the territory and we strongly oppose any unilateral attempt to advance territorial claims by renaming places. So again , and these are some of the things we’ve stood by for a long time,” White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre said.
The announcement came after China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs standardized 11 place names in Arunachal Pradesh, which it dubbed “Southern Tibet in southern Tibet”.

According to the Global Times, the Chinese cabinet has used Chinese characters, Tibetan and pinyin to name 11 place names in Arunachal Pradesh according to the place name regulations issued by the State Council.

The ministry released the names of 11 locations on Sunday, giving precise coordinates, including two residential areas, five mountain peaks, two rivers and two other areas. According to news reports, China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs also listed the categories of place names and the administrative divisions they belong to.
In response to this behavior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that India firmly refuses China is trying to rename places in Arunachal Pradesh.
Responding to media questions about China’s renaming of some places in Arunachal Pradesh, Arindam Baki said in a statement, “We have seen such reports. This is not the first time China has done something like this. attempt. We categorically refuse.”
He further said, “Arunachal Pradesh was, has been and will always be an integral part of India. Trying to assign fictitious names will not change this reality.”

Meanwhile, in a news conference, Pierre said of India-US relations and Ambassador Eric Garcetti, “So, this is what I’m saying here, the president has said it. When we look at When it comes to our relationship with India, it’s one of the most important relationships America still has in the world.”
“Ambassador Garcetti will lead an ambitious effort to deepen our cooperation with India on critical and emerging technologies, expand our defense cooperation, and strengthen our economies and people-to-people ties.
