STULZ enhances sustainability of its CyberAir 3PRO DX series

[ad_1]

Mission-critical air conditioning specialist STULZ has announced that select units in its industry-leading CyberAir 3PRO DX range can now use R513A low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant.

This pioneering development underscores the company’s continued commitment to deliver the most sustainable air conditioning systems for data centers, and it is already working on further product conversions to expand the use of R513A refrigerant across its product portfolio .

“Compared to commonly used refrigerants such as R134a, R513A offers a wide range of advantages,” explains Mirko Hoffmann, Sales Manager at STULZ Germany. “Its GWP (GWP 631) is 56% lower than R134a and meets the requirements of the current European Union (EU) F-Gas Regulation, which aims to reduce the EU’s fluorinated greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds by 2030. 2014 year level.”

energy efficiency

As a drop-in refrigerant, R513A achieves energy efficiency and performance similar to R134a. Plus, according to the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) guidelines, R513A refrigerant is classified as A1 safety class, which means it is neither toxic nor flammable. Therefore, R513A refrigerant ensures easy handling and is ideal for data center applications.

Given the increasing pressure on data center owners, operators and users to reduce their environmental impact, STULZ has decided to start introducing R513A refrigerant with its innovative CyberAir 3PRO DX Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) solution. In doing so, the company has become one of the first manufacturers of data center CRAC equipment to adopt R513A refrigerant in its technology.

The CyberAir 3PRO DX achieves maximum cooling capacity in the smallest footprint and is more adaptable than any other precision CRAC unit on the market, thanks to optimized Equipment Efficiency Ratio (EER) and Direct free cooling realizes savings potential. With immediate effect, R513A refrigerant is available on selected units in the ASD/ASU and ALD/ALU model series of the CyberAir 3PRO DX series with on/off compressors.

“STULZ understands the need for data centers to operate as sustainably as possible, so we focus on offering products and systems that meet this requirement,” concludes Hoffmann. “By switching the CyberAir 3PRO DX to the low GWP R513A, we are able to offer our customers a greener alternative to traditional refrigerants such as R134a. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg – we are already working on Using more low-GWP refrigerants in our product range enables our customers to position themselves in a sustainable manner.” — trade arab news agency
