A suicide bomber attacked an education center in the Shiite district of the Afghan capital on Friday, killing 19 and wounding 27, a Taliban-appointed spokesman for the Kabul police chief said.
The explosion inside the Dashti Barchi community center in Kabul occurred in the early hours of the morning, spokesman Khalid Zadran said. He had no further details after the blast.

The bombings are the latest in a steady stream of violence since the Taliban took power. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack in the area, which is largely made up of members of Afghanistan’s minority Shiite community.
The Islamic State group – the main rival since the Taliban took over Afghanistan in August 2021 – has targeted Hazara communities, including Dashti Barchi, in the past.
“Our team has been dispatched to the site of the blast to find out more details,” Abdul Nafi Takor, a Taliban-appointed interior ministry spokesman, said earlier.
