The Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, visited the Austrian, American and Kuwait pavilions participating in the 2020 Dubai Expo yesterday.
Dr. Al Jaber first visited the Austrian Pavilion, which is a uniquely shaped and sustainably constructed pavilion consisting of 38 geometrically arranged white cone towers, inspired by traditional Arabian wind towers and made of prefabricated concrete elements of different heights production.
The Minister learned about Austria’s initiatives and the latest innovations and inspiring solutions through the “iLab” (a knowledge platform in the pavilion and a gathering place for Austrian creative ideas).
During his visit to the 36,000-square-foot US Pavilion, Dr. Al Jaber listened to the American values and culture with the theme of “Life, Freedom, and Pursuit of the Future”, as well as the country’s environment where innovation and creativity are flourishing and driven by American freedom.
He also watched the tallest item on the floor of any national pavilion at Expo 2020: a one-to-one replica of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Falcon 9 is 14 stories high and is the first orbital-class rocket capable of re-flying.
The Minister finally visited the Kuwait Pavilion and listened to Kuwait’s history, present and future 2035 vision. He also heard a brief introduction about Kuwait’s development plan, especially about resources, alternative energy, human development and knowledge economy.
