October 30 (UPI) – A suspension bridge in India collapsed on Sunday, killing more than 60 people and saving nearly 200, officials said.

The bridge, which spanned the Machihu River in the town of Morbi in Gujarat state, collapsed at around 6.30pm on Sunday, according to reports. Indian news agency PTIThe bridge, a major tourist attraction, reopened just four days ago after seven months of maintenance.

“After the renovation was completed, it was opened to the public. But the local municipality has not issued any fitness certificates,” Sandeepsinh Zala, chief officer of Morby Municipality, told PTI.

Morbi Collector’s Office said in a statement At least 170 people have been rescued, and three platoons of the National Disaster Relief Force have been dispatched to assist in the rescue efforts, along with 50 personnel from the Indian Navy and 30 from the country’s Air Force.
