The 16-nation championships to be held in the UAE and Oman will start on October 17.
The International Cricket Committee said on Tuesday that India and Pakistan’s rivals India and Pakistan will clashed at this year’s 2020 World Cup on October 24 because of the postponement of the match schedule.
The 16 Nations Championship will be held in the United Arab Emirates and Oman on October 17th. Oman will face Papua New Guinea in the opening match, followed by an evening match between Scotland and Bangladesh in the first round.
The top two teams in Group A and Group B in the first round will advance to the so-called Super 12 stage, and the heavyweight nations of the competition will join the competition.
Australia will face South Africa in the first group match at the start of Super 12 on October 23, and the West Indies holders will meet England in the first group match to decide four semi-finalists.
But the focus will be on the second group of India-Pakistan match in Dubai. Due to the tension in Kashmir (the disputed Himalayan territory), the two rival countries only met in a multinational event.
The last time the two Asian giants met was in the 50-plus World Cup in England in 2019, where India won—keeping their unbeaten record against Pakistan in the World Cup.
The 2009 winner, England, will play another key match against Australia in Dubai on October 30th.
The game will be hosted by the Cricket Control Council of India (BCCI) and was originally scheduled to be held in Australia at the end of 2020.
But as the coronavirus pandemic swept the world, it was cancelled.
It was originally scheduled to be held in India this year, but after the South Asian giant was hit by a surge in virus cases in April and May, it was moved to the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
The game will be held in four venues-Dubai International Stadium, Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Sharjah Stadium and Oman Cricket Academy venues.
The final will be held in Dubai on November 14th, and the reservation day will remain on November 15th.
