For nearly three decades, Murphy studied Chinese martial arts and medicine with renowned master Yu Chengxiang until his death in 2010. Murphy has been teaching for the past 13 years. Celebrate Black History Month with a cozy movie night at the Staten Island Museum in Livingston and watch impactful stories spotlighted in seven short films that share the joy, determination, resilience of Black people and young people and complexity.The film screening is organized in partnership with the New York International Children’s Film Festival, presented by Emmy winner and St. George resident Dolores N. Morris.
