Takreem Awards 2022 celebrates Arab excellence in Abu Dhabi

Successful Arab men and women in the fields of technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and humanitarian work were honoured at a special ceremony in Abu Dhabi.

This Takrim Foundation This was the 12th time the awards ceremony was held, with a grand ceremony at the Cultural Foundation Auditorium in Abu Dhabi honoring 12 bright Arabs from around the world.

Assameh — Birth and Beyond, a non-profit organization in Lebanon specializing in the rehabilitation and operation of children’s wards in government hospitals, and the Palestine-based Atfaluna Association for Deaf Children were awarded in the humanitarian and civic service categories.

Palestine Samer Said Khoury is President of Engineering and Construction at Consolidated Contractors Company, recognized for his company leadership.

Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, managing director of the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency, is the only Emirati to receive the Takrem Award. She won in the Environmental Development and Sustainability category.

Jordanian professor Hala Zreiqat won the scientific and technological achievement award, and Saudi Arabian businessman Ahmed AlZaini won the honor of young entrepreneur.

Educational figure Ghada Feghali from Lebanon, Dr. Nasser Shamm from Iraq, agarwood player, Professor Manahel Thabet, an economist from Saudi Arabia, was the other recipient.

The United States-based Leonardo Educational Organization has been honored with the Arab Society International Contribution Award.

The winners are selected by a jury of prominent Arab personalities.

The awards night was followed by a gala dinner.

Focus on talents

Takreem was established in 2009 to honor Arab achievements and bring Arab achievers to the forefront of the global stage.

Since its inception, the foundation has honored and recognized laureates from almost all Arab countries. It bridges the North African, Middle Eastern, Gulf and Arab diaspora, builds a like-minded community and serves as the region’s gateway to cultural, educational, scientific, environmental, humanitarian, social and economic excellence.

In the past, Takreem awards have been held in Beirut, Doha, Manama, Paris, Marrakech, Dubai, Cairo, Amman and Kuwait before going live in 2020. Beirut hosts the 11th Takreem in 2021, despite political and economic unrest in Lebanon.

“This year, the Foundation looks forward to working closely with new partners to set new standards in how the Arab world celebrates its success stories, connects its pioneers, gives back to its communities, and strives to support and hope for a brighter future,” the organizers said in a press release Say.
