India brought back 392 people on three different flights on the evacuation mission on Sunday, including two Afghan lawmakers, as countries continue to scramble to rescue their citizens from Kabul.

The total number of people evacuated included the first 135 Indians who returned from Doha.

It is reported that the Indians who evacuated from Kabul to Doha were employees of a number of foreign companies operating in Afghanistan. They flew out of Kabul on NATO and US planes.

The Taliban seized control of Kabul on August 15. Within two days of the Taliban’s occupation of Kabul, India evacuated 200 people, including the Indian envoy and other staff of its embassy in the Afghan capital.

On August 16, the first evacuation flight brought back more than 40 people, most of whom were staff from the Indian Embassy.

On August 17, the second plane evacuated approximately 150 people from Kabul, including Indian diplomats, officials, security personnel and some stranded Indians.

The Taliban swept Afghanistan this month, and in the context of the withdrawal of US troops, they seized control of almost all major towns, including Kabul.
