Tanya Giles resigns as Chief Program Officer at Paramount+

exclusive: More changes in Paramount+: Tanya Giles, the streaming platform’s chief programming officer, is leaving after 38 years at Paramount Worldwide and its various iterations. A representative for Paramount+ confirmed that Giles would be leaving ahead of the deadline, but declined to comment further. There was no immediate replacement and the decision to step down was not part of a reorganization, the sources said.

Giles was appointed to the position in June 2021 as part of a reorganization of content leadership at Paramount+. She has been overseeing the programming strategy for the streaming and Pluto TV content offerings.

Giles is the third Paramount+ executive to announce his exit from the company in a June 2021 reorganization. Jim Gianopulos, who became chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures in September 2021, also serves as chief content officer for Paramount+ Movies. His successor is Brian Robbins.

Showtime’s David Nevins stepped down in October as part of another executive reshuffle to double as chief creative officer for Paramount+ scripted series.

In November, the original script team of Paramount+ was merged into Paramount Television Studios. This led to another executive, Nicole Clemens, becoming part of the June 2021 structure and taking on the dual role of president of Paramount+ Original Scripted Series, focusing on her role as Paramount Television Responsibilities of the Studio President.

Development and production of the Paramount+ original scripted series has been transferred to the Paramount Global TV studios that provide the platform.

In February, it was reported that show timeof digital platforms will be integrated into Paramount+the linear Showtime network will be renamed Paramount+ with Showtime, ushering in further programming changes on the streaming platform.

Also in February, Paramount Global reported that Paramount+ Subscribers increased by 9.9 million to 56 million in the fourth quarter of 2022, and revenue increased by 81% year-over-year. Subscriber growth was driven by the NFL, Top Gun: Maverick and Smilealso 1923.

all Paramount Global Revenue was $8.1 billion, up 2% year-over-year.

Giles previously served as general manager of MTV Entertainment Group, and prior to that, he was general manager of Comedy Central. She has been with the company since 1995, when she first joined CBS as a research analyst.
