The Modon Abu Dhabi Padel Master 2023 saw a high-octane battle with the Agustin Tapia-Arturo Coello and Ariana Sanchez-Paula Josemaria teams, securing the men’s and women’s competitions.
The final of the season opener of the World Padel Tour was played in front of an audience at Bab Al Nojoum on Hudayriyat Island in Abu Dhabi.
The tournament sees some of the world’s top players duke it out on a bespoke court on the beach.
In the men’s final, No. 3 Tapia and No. 5 Arturo Coelo defeated No. 1 Alejandro Garland and Juan Coelo 7-6, 6-3. lebron.
In the women’s division, No. 3 Ariana Sanchez and Paola Jose Maria beat No. 1 Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Terry 6-3, 6-3 Ai won the championship.
The winning duo was delighted to claim the highest ever World Padel Tour points total of 2,000 points.
Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of the UAE Padel Association, presented the trophies to the winners. Sanchez and Coelo also won the “Most Valuable Player” award in their respective categories.
Aref Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, noted that the UAE capital has strengthened its position as a major venue for world-class sporting events.
“The Modon Abu Dhabi Padel Master has proven to be a huge success, not only for the athletes and spectators, but for the entire regional sports industry,” said Al Awani.
World Padel Tour chairman Ramon Agenjo said the competition was a “phenomenal” event that showcased Abu Dhabi’s readiness to host sporting events and the tour’s commitment to fostering a vibrant sports culture.
“This event brings together top world players and local talent, furthering the growth and development of padel in the UAE and the wider Gulf region.”
Bill O’Regan, CEO of Modon Properties, title sponsor of the event and organizer of Bab Al Nojoum, said: “The race was held in the picturesque Bab Al Nojoum, highlighting Abu Dhabi’s excellent infrastructure and our The continued commitment to bringing the best in sporting events in the region has once again proven that Hudayriyat Island is a major sports destination.”
The event is organized by Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism in partnership with Global MICE Organization Limited (GMOL) Events.

“The competition was a huge success, attracting massive participation from over 6,000 spectators and featuring some of the most impressive performances from padel stars from around the world, and we congratulate the winners for their outstanding performances.”
