Taylor Swift ignores ‘strange rumors’ about her relationship with Joe Alwyn
The 32-year-old singer has revealed that the first track from her upcoming album “Midnights” will be called “Lavender Haze,” explaining that she first heard it while watching the commercial “Mad Men” word, and like the meaning of “really beautiful” before the common description of love.
“I stumbled across the word ‘Lavender Haze’ while watching Mad Men and I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool,” she explained in a scroll posted on Instagram. said in the post. “It turns out it was a common phrase in the ’50s, they just described being in love.
“If you’re in a haze of lavender, you’re in that all-encompassing light of love, and I think that’s really beautiful.”
Taylor then became more specific, suggesting that the song was inspired by her relationship with the 31-year-old actor and how they “didged” speculation about their romance to “protect the real thing.”
She added: “I think a lot of people have to deal with this now, not just ‘public figures’ because we live in the age of social media. If the world finds out you’re in love with someone, they’ll weigh in.
“Like my six-year relationship, we had to sidestep the weird rumours and tabloid stuff, we just ignored it.
“So this song is about the act of ignoring those things in order to protect the real thing.”
Taylor’s Instagram post comes shortly after the latest installment of her TikTok series “Midnights Mayhem with Me,” in which the “Bad Blood” singer revealed the names of the songs that will be featured on her new album.
“The tension is palpable,” Taylor, who spins a bingo cage with numbered balls, says in the clip.
After the first place jumped out, she announced: “The No. 1 track is called ‘Lavender Haze’.”
