Teachers in UAE ask to protect students from bullying and abuse under new code of conduct

Teachers in the UAE have been told to protect students from bullying, neglect, exploitation and all kinds of abuse under the new rules.

Ministry of Education A code of conduct for education professionals was approved on Sunday and lays out several principles, types of conduct and ethics they should follow.

These include:

  • Protect children from bullying, neglect, exploitation and all kinds of abuse
  • Avoid revealing confidential information about students and their families
  • Encourage positive values ​​for students and students
  • Protect them from thoughts and behaviours deemed unacceptable by UAE society
  • Promote the principles of tolerance and acceptance of others
  • Students are encouraged to take pride in UAE’s journey to development and prosperity
  • Encourage them to actively participate in national events and events
  • Avoid spreading fake news and rumors
  • Under no circumstances should any verbal or physical violence be used against other students
  • Demonstrate positive behavior towards parents and the community.Respect UAE culture and traditions and respect Islamic values

Under the code of conduct, education sector staff must respect cultural, religious and racial diversity in the workplace and refrain from conduct or verbal attacks against colleagues, educational institutions or their employees.

They should not smoke or be under the influence of any unauthorized substances.

The rules also require all workers to wear non-exposing clothing and respect Emirati traditions.

Dr. Ahmed FalasiThe Education Minister said the code is a framework of fundamental values ​​and ethics that educators must abide by.

“We are proud of our education profession and we are keen to underpin the values ​​of Emirati society as directed by wise leadership,” he said.

These rules apply to all public and private schools following the Ministry of Education curriculum. It is unclear whether the new regulations will affect private schools in the country.
