PHOENIX — An entertainment district in Tempe is adding five new restaurants serving everything from breakfast to sushi in hopes of making a big impact on the local economy.

The Novus Innovation Corridor is adjacent to the ASU campus on University Drive and Rural Road.

The additions include Blue Sushi Sake Grill, Eureka!, Over Easy, The Alley and Nautical Bowls, according to a release.

“Novus, located in downtown Tempe on the Arizona State University Tempe campus, offers extensive educational resources, extensive research activities and exciting entertainment venues such as Sun Devil Stadium, Desert Financial Credit Union Stadium, Mullett Stadium and Tempe Town Lake ,” Morgan Olsen, ASU executive vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer, said in a release.

“This is a true live/work/play opportunity that will be extremely attractive to today’s professionals.”

Opened in 2002, Blue Sushi Sake Grill is coming to Tempe in a 6,021-square-foot building. According to a press release, the restaurant offers one of the most extensive vegetarian sushi menus in the country.

Eureka! is a California-based scratch kitchen serving gourmet burgers, an extensive menu, and creative beverages including local craft beers, small-batch whiskeys, and craft cocktails. The 4,290-square-foot building will include terraces with water features, indoor and outdoor bars, a live music stage and whiskey club lockers.

Over Easy, a popular local breakfast spot, is opening the doors to its 14th Valley location. The restaurant takes classic breakfast staples and focuses on creating shareable moments. The 3,154-square-foot property will also include an outdoor patio.

The Alley is making its Arizona debut. According to a press release, the location is known for serving signature milk teas and fruit drinks in an aesthetically pleasing setting. While this will be the first location in Arizona, there are more than 400 worldwide.

Nautica Bowls is a Minnesota-based company that offers gluten-free, dairy-free, plant-based and soy-free acai and superfood bowls.

The Novus Innovation Center is one of ASU’s seven innovation districts and is expected to contribute $1.86 billion annually to the local economy, according to a press release.
