The 2022 Adipec Awards honor 10 winners

Shell Chief Executive Ben van Beurden has been named Trailblazer of the Year at the 12th Adipec Awards for leading Shell’s strategy to become a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050.

This year’s awards ceremony, held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, highlighted sustainability and innovative low-carbon energy solutions, with 10 winners selected from over 1,000 entries.

Organized by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), the awards recognize outstanding individuals, projects and ideas that are transforming the global energy industry.

More than 350 companies

More than 350 companies from 62 countries submitted nominations for the awards, and entries were considered by a distinguished panel of oil and gas industry leaders.

Fatema Al Nuaimi, Chief Executive Officer of Adnoc LNG and Chair of the Adipec Awards, said: “We congratulate all the winners of the 2022 Adipec Awards. .As the global energy landscape evolves, the Adipec Awards will continue to encourage innovative and forward-looking solutions to help achieve a more sustainable energy future.”

Technology featured heavily throughout the awards, with Adnoc’s predictive and analytical diagnostics program named Digital Transformation Project of the Year and SeekOps named Oil and Gas Startup of the Year for its drone systems.

MicroSilicon’s smart microchip proppant technology, along with its research partners the University of Kansas, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and EOG Resources, received the Breakthrough Research Award of the Year, while Saudi Aramco’s FracBots received the Breakthrough Technology Project.

The award also recognized Saudi Aramco’s Hatem Abdullah Bajuaifer, who was named Young Technologist of the Year.

Young Technologist of the Year: Hatem Abdullah Bajuaifer of Saudi Aramco;

Outstanding achievement of the Low Carbon Initiative: Adnoc: A Responsible Low Carbon Operator – From Ambition to Action;

Oil and Gas Startup of the Year: SeekOps: Reducing Global Emissions Using Automated Detection, Locating and Quantification via Drone Systems; and

Operating Excellence Company of the Year (Remote Operational Excellence): Oman Petroleum Development Company: PDO Leading Node Acquisition and Processing – From Blank Area to Exploration Lead in Record Time. — trade arab news agency
