Five-day cultural experience looks set to be a celebrity raffle too
With the explosion of online gaming and the inevitable wealth that comes with mastering projects like FIFA, PUBG, and even Minecraft, festivals that bring gamers and related fans together are always welcome. Entertainment company Waverider announced today that it has teamed up with Galaxy Racer (GXR), a leading Dubai-based esports organization, for the first POPC Live! in Dubai. The Middle East’s largest eSports, comics and YouTube pop culture festival, set to take place in March 2022, will feature groundbreaking five-day experiences and unique events for the first time in the region.
Some of the world’s biggest names will be in attendance, with an expansive esports area set up to host tournaments featuring the biggest names in the gaming and entertainment industries, as well as pop culture panels, seminars, conferences and concerts.
Gamers and eSports fans will have a lot of exciting things going on because of POPC Live! Leading developers, publishers and esports teams will be welcomed to Dubai. Visitors will have the rare opportunity to network with international social media stars and industry leaders.
Highlights of the event include PUBG Mobile, League of Legends and DOTA2 tournaments in the festival’s massive esports section. Top international teams will compete to win millions of dirhams. The area will also host the GIRLGAMER World Finals and several community championships open to the public hosted by Galaxy Racer.
Fans of Comic-Con will also enjoy an all-encompassing community event featuring their favorite elements—artist alley, movie club, celebrity meetups, and more.
The festival’s exhibitor area will feature some of the biggest game publishers, comic book stores, toy companies, and film and TV brands. If that wasn’t enough, the state-of-the-art main stage will see an incredible lineup of regional and international music acts, as well as an array of interactive performances that will leave fans wanting more.
