The Exorcist reboot will start filming ‘in a few weeks’ | Entertainment

David Gordon Green will start filming his ‘The Exorcist’ reboot in ‘a few weeks’.

The “Halloween’s Over” filmmaker will be at the helm of yet another horror film, and he hopes to revamp the iconic 1973 film that brings Ellen Burstyn back.

“We’re going to start in a couple of weeks and we’re ready to roll up our sleeves and dive into the next great team,” Green told Variety.

“We have an amazing cast and a script that we’re all excited about.”

Universal’s $400 million trilogy, produced by Blumhouse, returns Burstyn as Chris MacNeil, a woman who brings in two Catholic priests to exorcise her possessed daughter , played by Linda Blair.

Looking ahead to the first part of the reboot – scheduled for release in 2023 – Green added: “[I’m] It’s an honor to be involved in something so valuable in film history.

“And know there’s a fan base that’s curious, alert, alert, and probably cares about what we’re doing.

“What I like is that people say, ‘Is it stressful?’ No, it’s exciting because I spend a lot of time making movies and you’re just begging the audience to tune in, see what’s going on, or buy movie tickets .”

The director noted that he had a “story to tell” and his own “imagination to express,” while he also had some “in-depth” conversations with Burstyn about her character.

He explained: “In a lot of these experiences, I’m looking for such mature and insightful people, so I just ask a lot of questions to hear what their view of the world is and how that affects their creativity. .

“It’s like calling your spiritual advisor. We communicate on different levels, and it’s important for a program like this to respect what people are doing internally.”
