Leading Edge events announces The Global Urdu Festival on the 11th, 12th and 13th of November, 2022. The three-day event is will be graced by the presence of the Padma Bhushan Awardee Janab Javed Akhtar Sahab.
The Global Urdu Festival will be one of its kind as it will host many well-renowned Urdu artists, namely, Mr Khurshid Rizvi, Mr Nadeem Bhabha, Mr Ammar Iqbal, Mr Shabbir Hussain, Mr Faisal Hashmi, Mr Rasheed Turabi, Ms Fatima Mehru, Ms Ambreen Salahuddin, Mr Inam Nadeem, Mr Zulfiqar Adil, Mr Tasneef Haider, Mr Waheed Ahmad, Mr Anjum Saleemi, Ms Hamida shaheen, Ms Injeel Sahifa, Mr Sahil Agha, Ms Kabuki Khanna, Mr Anas Khan, Mr Aslam Mahmood, Mr Shoaib Kyani, who are otherwise rather difficult to invite.
The Global Urdu Festival is organised under the guidance of Mr Tariq Faizi, a deep-dyed poetry and literature devotee. Mr Tariq has given shape to hundreds of events around the globe and has contributed more than his fair share in the popularisation of literature and poetry work. He is, what you call, an authentic literature lover. He has worked with many big names in the literature. But, being as humble as he is, Mr Tariq believes in giving chances to hidden and upcoming talent in the industry.
The Global Urdu Festival is aimed to be an extravagant Urdu celebration and why not, Urdu is imbued with humanism. Or as Janab Javed Akhtar has rightly said, “This is a language of synthesis, one which emerged from Sufism, where the creator and the creation are one. Urdu has emerged from life as we have felt and lived it in the sub-continent to create a blended culture and communicate in a manner that we all understand.”
Held in the opulent venue of Cross Borders Art Gallery, Al Quoz, Dubai, the Global Urdu Poetry Festival is set to commence on the 11th of September at 6 p.m. Dubai time. The schedule of the event is quite authentic. Attendees of this glorious festival will get to enjoy Sufi music with the mehfil of Nazms and Ghazals.
This marvellous event has already garnered immense love and support from Urdu fans in the region and though it is an invite-only event, the Global Urdu Poetry festival is all set to witness a grandiose attendance!
