The India Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai today announced the agenda for the upcoming Space Week from October 17 to October 23, 2021. This week organized by the Ministry of Space and FICCI will be attended by a number of distinguished guests in the space field, including: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Ministry of Space and Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACE).
India’s recent space missions and success in this area have made the country a world-leading space center. The country’s focus on space exploration benefits from its technical expertise and proficiency in high-end technology. Recently, India has led various missions, such as putting 104 satellites into orbit in one mission and successfully completing complex missions like Mangalyaan at a fraction of the cost of similar missions led by other countries. Based on these achievements, the 2020 Dubai World Expo Space Week will host conferences on the future of space international participation and cooperation, startup space: unlimited opportunities in space, space 2030: sustainable commercial space, and capacity building and research opportunities.
The conference will be chaired by major voices in the Indian space sector, such as the President of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Minister of Space of the Government of India, Dr. K. Sivan, the President of the Indian National Space Agency, Dr. Pawan Goenka, Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACE) and ISRO’s Scientific Secretary Dr. Umamaheswaran R.
The conference on the future of international participation and cooperation in space will discuss discussions on international cooperation around space exploration and joint research and development, which can realize multiple research fields in one mission at the same cost. Panelists will explore opportunities to create affordable platforms to conduct research based on the interests of individual countries and cross-functional knowledge sharing.
The conference on capacity building and research opportunities will be the key to working with government and private partners to resolve issues related to the space sector’s research focus areas, space sector challenges, and capacity building. Space is a multifaceted subject that can bring benefits to many fields such as agriculture, transportation, urban development, land cover and use, weather, disaster management, water resources, communications, and entertainment. It will discuss advanced technologies such as quantum mechanics, synthetic aperture radar, multispectral solutions, green propellants, etc., which provide great potential for research and product development in the space field.
Sustainable business opportunities in the space sector is another key area that will be discussed during Space Week. The conference will focus on the current investment status and sustainable business models in the aerospace sector. The purpose of this conference is to discuss the theme of the future commercial space ecosystem. The group will describe the operation of commercial space travel services, the interplanetary connections of satellites, and the competition between space refueling services.
In addition, the conference on “Entrepreneurship Space” will play a key role in discussing the available market opportunities in the space entrepreneurship field and the factors needed to increase industry participation. With start-ups and the private sector now making more and more contributions to technological development, the strategic space previously considered to be the government is now slowly providing opportunities for the entire industry. It will discuss the rise of space start-ups where private investment has increased more than tenfold in the past decade.
The Space Week of Expo 2020 Dubai will be an important event of the India Pavilion. India has shown its advantages in space technology. Today’s world is attracted by India’s Mars mission Mangalyaan and the upcoming mission Gaganyan.
