Please note that this article was written on August 9, 2021
With periodic changes and different rules for PCR and DPI, it is difficult for those who have been vaccinated here and those who have not been vaccinated-to track the official rules at any given time. Although it is vital.
This resource aims to organize and clarify all current rules and regulations for entering Abu Dhabi, whether by plane or by car.
What are the current rules for entering Abu Dhabi?
Road entry
For vaccination, please refer to: UAE citizens and residents receive a second dose of vaccine at least 28 days in advance, which is recorded in the vaccine report of the Alhosn app.
From July 19, 2021, only those who obtained a negative PCR test within 48 hours after attempting to enter the country, showed a negative DPI result on the Alhosn app, or obtained a negative DPI result within 24 hours are allowed to enter the Emirate of Abu Dhabi by road.
As before, the DPI test cannot enter Abu Dhabi multiple times in a row (if you did the DPI test last time, you need to do PCR next time).
Those who enter through the PCR test must retake the PCR test on the fourth day of entry, for those who stay for more than four days. For those who stay for eight days or longer, an additional PCR test must be performed on the eighth day.
Those who enter the country through DPI, for those who stay for 48 hours or more, must undergo a PCR test on the third day of entry, and for those who stay for 7 days or more, an additional PCR test must be performed on the seventh day
If you have recently travelled from a non-green list country
