Cultural Projects and Heritage Festival Committee-Abu Dhabi has postponed the Madinet Zayed Camel Pageant for the 2021 Al Dhafra Festival to December 14-21, 2021 instead of December 23, in the Al Dhafra region Madinet Zayed, Abu Dhabi.
Madinet Zayed Mazayna (competition) is the third round of the Abu Dhabi Camel Pageant. In accordance with the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the patron of the festival, the Al Dhafra festival will be expanded to include The camel beauty pageant and Madinet Zayd held in Sowehan, Rajin, and the main camel beauty pageant of the Al Dhafra festival.
The festival reflects the continuous efforts of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to consolidate the UAE’s status as a regional and international center and strengthen heritage protection for future generations.
The purpose of the Al Dhafra Festival is to celebrate typical UAE culture, promote tourism and maintain the purity of camel breeds.
The festival aims to protect the cultural heritage of Abu Dhabi and protect the heritage of the country’s traditions. It aims to increase the number of camel owners participating in the heritage competition, protect folklore, give new generations the opportunity to experience and cherish the heritage of their country and the entire region, and strengthen human and social ties. In addition, this will help develop domestic and Gulf tourism, stimulate economic activity, and consolidate the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s position as the preferred destination for local, regional and international camel fairs and heritage events.
