Ricardo Land recorded a TikTok video showing multiple mice crawling around DC Popeye, and the video went viral on the Internet since then. Because of his behavior, he now says that he has been suspended without pay.
Founding GoFundMe, he explained that he is the father of five children and needs to take care of his family. Ricardo wrote, ” I was suspended for exposing the Popeye franchise due to a group of rats in the place[.]Land continued, “I have a family of 5, because of this incident, my family will be hurt by my employer.[.[“ Initially requesting $10,000, he has now raised nearly $20,000.
Since the viral video, the Popeye’s has been shut down, according to an email.
Popeye’s has also released a statement and said, “Food safety and cleanliness is a top priority at Popeyes,” the company said in a statement. “This restaurant has been temporarily closed, and the Franchisee who owns and operates this location is taking the appropriate steps to address the issue.”
It’s also reported that the restaurant received 17 violations in October, “including rat droppings outside near the grease bin, openings in the kitchen ceiling and water pooled in the walk-in fridge, dishwashing area and manager’s office,” Black Enterprise reports.

It looks like Megan Thee Stallion is in her bag once again, this time she is teaming up with the fast-food franchise Popeyes, to drop her very own sauce.
The two announced her very own “Hottie Sauce,” which customers will be able to add to their orders starting on October 19th. According to Yahoo, the sauce is described as “a sweet and bold sauce with a hint of spice, inspired by Megan’s sassy personality,” and includes honey, cider vinegar, and Aleppo pepper.”
