The mayor of New York seems to have responded to the backlash on Twitter

[ad_1]

New Yorkers must do what they say, and do what they say.Recently sworn in Mayor Eric Adams At yesterday’s press conference, he called the individual a “low-skilled worker” and at the same time solved the need for the company to reopen. This seemed to be a response to the strong opposition he received. The mayor made a comment that people who work as chefs and shoe shiners at Dunkin’ Donuts “lack the academic skills of sitting in a corner office”. Today, Mayor Adams said on Twitter that he used to be a cook and a dishwasher.

“I am a chef. I am a dishwasher. If no one came to my restaurant when I was in college, I would not be able to survive,” he wrote on Twitter. “When you talk about closing our cities, you are talking about letting low-wage workers lose their jobs. I won’t let this happen.” Several people, including public officials, thought his words could have been better.

U.S. Rep. Alexander Ocasio-Cortez said on Twitter: “The notion that any job is’low-skilled’ is a myth continued by the rich to prove inhumane working conditions, Little/no health care and low wages are reasonable. Also, being a waiter makes me and many others *skilled* at our job compared to those who have never experienced that kind of life.”

District 13 representative Jessica Ramos also shared a tweet in response to Mayor Adams’ comment: “Mr. @NYCMayor, there is no such thing as a low-skilled worker. This is an attempt to suppress The concept of wages. You are talking about people whose labor is vital to our daily lives. Hmm.” Mayor Adams did not say anything else before his tweet, nor did he issue an apology. Roommate, do you think his tweets are enough? !
