The first act of K-Fest Abu Dhabi has been announced.

The line-up includes Woogie, Peakboy, Sik-K, Jay B, P1Harmony and The Rose, all of whom will make their Middle East debut when they play at the Etihad Arena on September 10.

Hyperound, the company behind the festival, launched in the UAE earlier this year, promising to bring top South Korean performances to the region.

“Not only do we know that there are many fans in the Middle East waiting for K-pop concerts, seeing fans cheering and enjoying previous K-pop concerts, but the number of fans in the region is increasing dramatically,” a Hypersound representative told National.

“Fans’ interest, enthusiasm and love for K-pop inspired us to create Hyperound to host this festival.”

Ahead of the show, some musical performances expressed their excitement about coming to Abu Dhabi.

“This is new to me and I’m really excited about the fact that there are so many K-pop fans. I want to say thank you to all the fans who love and support our music and culture,” said producer and rapper Woogie.

P1Harmony was one of the first cast members to be announced, and they said they were a little nervous, especially when it came to meeting fans.

“I’m really looking forward to how everyone reacts to our performance. I’m not that nervous yet, but I think I would be nervous if I saw everyone in person. We promise to show you an exciting performance,” the said the group’s rapper Jiung.

P1Harmony member Keeho also expressed his excitement at meeting fans who call themselves P1ece in the area. He said: “I’m already looking forward to coming a long way with P1ece. I hope P1ece likes it as much as we work hard.”

Meanwhile, rapper Sik-K, whose songs include Abu Dhabi and Habibi from his album flip, Eager fans to listen to his music live.

However, speaking of new songs and albums, Jay B, who is also the leader of K-pop boy band Got7, said he plans to release an album in August.

“I’m trying to prepare a new album as soon as possible and perform in front of everyone,” he said.

Jay B also performed in the duo Jus2 with Yugyeom and will perform solo.

“Because I went alone this time, I hope to be able to leave as many good memories as possible to my fans. And, I promise that next time I will come back better than this time.”

After announcing the lineup, Hyperound said they were delighted to hear all the positive feedback about the event. “We want everyone to know that we are considering any comments or information from our fans for the next festival lineup in the near future. We would be grateful if fans continue to give us their tremendous support,” the representative said.
