The U.S. Supreme Court asks to review the conviction to overturn Bill Cosby

[ad_1]

Bill Cosby After being released from prison, he has kept a low profile. However, as another lawsuit may be underway, he seems to be back in the spotlight. As we previously reported, Bill spent nearly three years at the SCI Phoenix State Prison outside Philadelphia after the jury found him guilty of three serious indecent assaults in 2018. The court held that the 84-year-old was a “predator of sexual violence” posing an “imminent safety risk” to women.

Since his release in June, Bill has not gotten into trouble, but this has not stopped the prosecutor from trying to send him back to prison.according to NBC Finance Channel, Pennsylvania prosecutors asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review the lower court’s verdict overturning Bill’s sexual assault conviction. In June, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that the “non-prosecution agreement” reached with the former prosecutor should have excluded him from criminal charges in this case.

The petition was filed last Wednesday by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office in Pennsylvania and is open to the public today. The petition asked the U.S. Supreme Court to consider the agreement-the then prosecutor Bruce Castor promised that if Bill testified in a civil lawsuit, he would not file criminal charges against Bill, and whether it should be considered “granted immunity.”

Although there may be a long battle, Bill’s team did not give up and remained loyal to fighting for his freedom. Bill’s spokesperson Andrew Wyatt issued a statement saying,

“In short, the Montgomery County DA asked the U.S. Supreme Court to throw the constitution out of the window, as it did, to satisfy the #metoo thug,” the statement said. “DA’s request is centered on the unique facts of the Cosby case, and has no impact on important federal legal issues and has no value.” Roommates, as more information becomes available, we will notify you in time.
