With the announcement of two new events on the Meydan Golf circuit on Saturday, December 18, the popular UAE Amateur Golf League will return better than ever.

Alliance Administrator Priyaa Kumaria commented: “The Corporate Invitational will be the first event of the planned business series. There will be nine teams representing banks, airlines, health, real estate, logistics, industry, luxury cars and one EAGL Team. The agenda of the Corporate Invitational is to host eight different companies, each of whom will send eight players to strengthen their customers/customers through golf.
“Compared with a regular golf day that only invites existing customers, companies in this model will get intangible benefits, and the value of these benefits is much higher.”
The UAE Amateur Golf League held its first demonstration event at Jumeirah Golf Estate in June. One of its outstanding features is to provide amateurs with a professional golf-like experience. Most importantly, these events are broadcast live on TV and online channels. EAGL founder and chairman Sudesh Aggarwal revealed that this key feature will once again be the forefront of upcoming events in The Track, Meydan, and Golf.
“Live streaming has always been the mantra of EAGL, and this is another first for amateur golf,” Aggarwal said. “The EAGL Corporate Invitational will be broadcast live on Dubai Sporting Events and the EAGL YouTube channel. After the huge success of the showcase event in June 2021, another pioneering move by EAGL.
“The EAGL Business Series aims to promote business, social and team golf. In the corporate invitational tournament, we raised part of the funds from team sponsorship, and the cost of the event was approximately US$250,000.
“This commercial activity will directly or indirectly benefit participating companies in a variety of ways, especially through live television.”
Before the golf tournament on Saturday, December 18th, a gala dinner will be held at the charming Maidan Hotel on the evening of Thursday, December 16th, and a match night will be held on the iconic circuit.
“We are very pleased to host this event at an all-encompassing luxury destination venue like Meydan, including golf, dinner and competitions, as well as luxury services for our team. Meydan will wear personalized lockers, with The caddie’s stroller and the wonderful weather and atmosphere provided by Meydan welcome our team,” Kumaria added.
The prize for winning the EAGL Corporate Invitational will be a team golf holiday to Bulgaria’s Lighthouse Golf & Spa Resort, and the winning corporate team sponsor will receive the coveted EAGL custom trophy and 1/2 page national newspaper advertisement.
William Bruce, Director of Golf at Meydan Golf, said: “We are very pleased to be able to host the UAE Amateur Golf League at Meydan Golf. Meydan Golf has always been proud to be the most inclusive golf experience in Dubai. This partnership will help to further promote the facility and make it open to all golfers day and night without the need for membership, special dress requirements or dull rules!”
Held on the same day as the EAGL Corporate Invitational is the first EAGL Junior Championship hosted by Shiv Kapur, which aims to serve one of EAGL’s main goals, which is to develop golf among young people in the UAE.
EAGL ambassador and professional European Tour player Shiv Kapur said: “The commercial series will also have a junior series, which will be a regular program. I think a lot of work has been done at the corporate level and the grassroots level, but it is competing with young people. In terms of speaking, we think it will be a good platform to promote junior golf and women’s games in the region together with a commercial perspective. I think a lot of things have happened at the professional level in Dubai, but at the amateur level, this is possible It’s the biggest event you will see in Dubai’s amateur golf course.”
Eligibility for the EAGL Junior Championships will be managed by the local golf club, and companies interested in registering a team for the EAGL Corporate Invitational should visit eagl.ae.
