A senior envoy said that the UAE and South Korea will become more important partners in creating the “miracle of the future” in the next 50 years.
South Korean Ambassador to the UAE, Kwon Yongwoo, expressed confidence and optimism for the bright future of the UAE.
“I fully believe that’impossible is possible’ for the UAE,” he said in a video message that marked the online reception of South Korea’s National Day.
The ambassador emphasized that the two countries have a common vision, that is, to become a leading country in the post-epidemic era and make significant contributions to solving global problems.
“For half a century, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates have overcome countless adversities and realized the’Han River Miracle’ and the’Desert Miracle’ respectively, and are indispensable partners for each other.”
Yongwoo expressed the belief that the two countries will become “more important partners, working hand in hand to create a’miracle of the future’ for common prosperity”.
He pointed out that the relationship between the UAE and South Korea has been developed through “extensive and in-depth cooperation” in various fields such as national defense, nuclear power plant projects, and the establishment of a “special strategic partnership” in 2018.
Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth of the UAE, welcomed the bilateral relations between the two countries.
“Over time, special strategic relationships have become stronger in various fields,” the minister said.

The minister added that there are 13,000 Korean expatriates in the UAE and it receives more than 200,000 tourists every year.
The Korean community in the country has also invested in more than 1,000 companies in various fields.
Opening of the month-long Korean Festival
The Korean Embassy and the Korean Cultural Center organized a one-month festival, which started on Wednesday and lasted until November 12.
The festival is part of the Dubai Expo 2020 and is also to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the UAE.
Various events-including exhibitions, competitions, virtual lectures, performances, film screenings and K-Pop concerts-are lining up for this festival.
