The UAE government launched the first partnership on a platform between the Federal Revenue Service, telecommunications regulatory and digital government agencies, and Amazon. The UAE API market was launched by the UAE Government Service Excellence Program (EGSEP) and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) in an event attended by Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and Future; Ahmed Naser, Inspector General, Ministry of Interior Major General Dr. Al Raisi; Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director of the Federal Revenue Service; Majed Al Mesmar, Director of the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority; Major General Suhail Al Khaili, Director of the Federal Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security Agency; Mohammed bin Taliah, Government of the UAE Director of Services; Dr. Yasir Alnaqbi, Assistant Director-General for Leadership and Government Capability, Office of the Prime Minister, Cabinet Affairs Department; Hanan Ahli, Acting Director of the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics; and Ronaldo Mashhour, Vice President, Amazon Middle East and North Africa.

Ohood Al Roumi stated that the API market reflects the government’s role as a catalyst to promote cooperation and partnerships with the private sector to develop advanced digital government services. It is further in line with the government’s direction of accelerating digital transformation and achieving integration to provide a seamless, effective and timely customer experience anytime, anywhere.

The Minister pointed out that the market represents a favorable ecosystem where coders and developers can use government software interfaces to develop new solutions and services, and start startups that can provide interconnected and seamless digital government services.

She called on companies, entrepreneurs, application developers and coders to benefit from the program and expand the program by establishing new partnerships with government entities to strengthen the UAE’s digital transformation.

He also pointed out that the new API market will improve the efficiency of government services based on the principles of the UAE for the next 50 years.

Major General Ahmed Naser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry of the Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Development of Judicial Electronic Systems, emphasized that the Ministry is keen to formulate joint government actions to design and provide the best services.

He pointed out that launching the UAE API market will promote business and e-commerce procedures and represent a qualitative leap in building a new generation of future services. He also emphasized the importance of promoting cooperation between government agencies and innovative global players.

Major General Suhail Al Khaili said that the UAE government is working hard to realize the leadership’s vision and instructions for the next 50 years, that is, to become the best country in the world to provide government services to all customers.

He added that the Federal Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security Agency has launched a number of services for citizens and residents, such as the UAE ID card service; in addition to providing passport services to citizens. This step aims to enable coders and private companies to provide the above-mentioned services through their platforms, thereby simplifying procedures and providing a seamless government service experience.

Mohammed bin Taliah said that the UAE Government Service Excellence Program (EGSEP) has cooperated with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority to launch the UAE API market, reflecting the UAE’s leadership in accelerating the government’s digital transformation and developing a new generation of digital government services in the future.

Bin Taliah emphasized that the API Marketplace program aims to promote cooperation and effective partnerships between government entities and between the government and the private sector, provide customers with 24/7 interconnected digital services, and promote the provision of safe and reliable data and information.

“The UAE API market will promote integration and interdependence between government and private entities, and provide government APIs for companies, developers, coders and innovators, enabling them to work with the government to develop a new generation of government services, speed up the process, and at any time Enjoy service anywhere,” he added.
