Catfish

One of Abu Dhabi’s oldest restaurants, Bu Tafish opened in 1968 as a humble diner selling fresh seafood with delicious spices cooked on board using simple techniques – and they’ve continued to this day. Founded by Palestinian immigrants, Bu Tafish was named after the late regular Sheikh Zayed. The modern restaurant, now at Al Bateen Marina, has a nautical design, with wooden boats, oars and lifebuoy rings forming part of the decor, and waiters in sailor suits. According to Wael al Tamini, whose father founded Bu Tafish, it’s the “secret” sauce that has been attracting regulars for years. Some of the diners who came to this restaurant as children now take their families on a memory trip.

Koya

For an unforgettable dining experience, Coya is the place for you. Delicious Peruvian cuisine is paired perfectly with luxurious interiors, mood lighting, steel lattice room dividers, leather upholstery and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of the Al Maryah district. Some must-try dishes include seafood ceviche, tuna tartare tacos, and veal steak with sesame-pickled carrots. Or opt for the chef’s tasting menu – the real highlight. Haijin

A fairly new addition to Abu Dhabi’s vibrant dining scene, Kaizu serves authentic Japanese cuisine in an immersive theatrical setting.
