The UAE Digital Government has identified 4 electronic channels for submitting entry permit or visa applications to the UAE, the first being the Residency and Citizenship Smart Channels (E-channels) and the second being the website of the General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA) , while the third is the Federal Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) application on the Google Store or the Apple Store, and the fourth channel is the “Dubai Now” app on the Google Store or the Apple Store.
People can apply for visas or entry permits directly through typing desks registered with the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) or through typing desks approved by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA), the government added , after the office completes the process and is approved, the applicant receives an approval message and original entry clearance.
Government appeals to those holding entry permits, visas issued from Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah to verify their validity, date of issue via eChannel platform and validity period of the ICP. For holders of entry permits or visas issued by Dubai, their validity, date of issue and date of expiration can be checked through the ‘Amer’ website of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai.
When submitting an entry clearance or visa application at any service centre, it must be ensured that the service provider provides electronic tracking of the application, including the application number and reference number, so that the status of the application can be followed up online, or through other available communication channels.
The authorities also stipulate that a resident of the country can sponsor his/her parents, as either of them is granted a residence visa, which needs to be renewed every year.
The government added that a resident who holds a valid resident visa can obtain a resident visa for his family members to live and live in, subject to the conditions that the resident must meet, the most important of which is that his salary should not be less than Dhs4 per month, 000 or Dhs3,000 (if housing is available). The government clarified that residents who want to obtain a residence visa for their parents must provide evidence that they need his care and support.
