Go out on Friday? Please note that these roads are closed…

Attention drivers in Dubai. These main roads will be closed for a few hours on Friday, November 26 to make way for runners participating in the Dubai run.

Therefore, if you plan to leave on Friday morning, be sure to pay attention to the alternative routes recommended by the Road and Transportation Administration (RTA).

Don’t worry, you don’t have to cancel your plan, because RTA has suggested alternative routes, which only means that you may need to leave earlier to reach your destination.

The following are the road closures that you need to pay attention to.

Sheikh Zayed Road between Dubai World Trade Center roundabout and Dubai Mall Bridge (the first interchange) will be closed from 4 am to 9 am. Alternative roads suggested by the RTA include Al Khail Road via Upper Financial Center Road and Al Wasl Road via Al Safa Road.

The Xia Financial Center Road on both sides will be closed from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. RTA recommends taking the Financial Center Road as an alternative route.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard will be closed at the same time from 4 am to 10 am, and Burj Khalifa Street is recommended as an alternative route.

Finally, Al Mustaqbal Street between 2nd Za’abeel and Financial Road will be closed from 6.30am to 10.30am. Instead, Al Sukouk Street and Al Boursa Street.

RTA also announced changes to the schedule of Dubai Metro to help participants of the day reach the starting line. The first trip will start at 3 am on Friday, November 26.

The 5th Dubai Fitness Challenge is now in its final days and will end on Saturday, November 27th. The challenge prompted Dubai residents to participate in a 30-day 30-minute exercise.
