This Emirati restaurant offers free food to visiting visa holders

DUBAI — Thousands of people move to the United Arab Emirates every week, many of whom are not lucky enough to find work at first, leaving them concerned about their meals.

A solution to the problem has been given by a restaurateur who is now offering free meals to visit visa holders and job seekers in the emirate.

The Star of Karachi restaurant in Sharjah has been providing free meals to the poor for eight years, but the service is now being extended to visitor visa holders as well.

Restaurateur Shahid Asghar Bangash stressed that people who are unemployed, on visitor visas or whose visas have expired can come to Sharjah’s Muweilah and Saja restaurants and provide free meals.

“We provide this service to people who need it, no matter which country they belong to. We host people mainly from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Africa who lost their jobs and ran out of money. They can come to us and tell We have them on visit visas and have no money,” said Shahid Asghar Bangash, reported by Khaleej Times.

“We don’t have any terms and conditions for these people. They can order whatever is available that day. We also have a password for these people in the restaurant staff, so we ask the restaurant staff to place an order for them so that they don’t It would hurt their self-esteem, and no one else in the restaurant would know. They,” he said.
