Arlington, TX (CBSDFW.COM) – It was a rare night where both the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers have home games.
That means more than 100,000 sports fans flocking to stadiums near Arlington are both exciting and nerve-wracking.
Even though their games don’t count, there’s a lot more interest in the Cowboys here tonight.
The return of football has breathed new life into DFW sports as Rangers struggle.
It was their first visit to AT&T Stadium – Randy Glasgow and his family dressed up for it because they were big fans of the Cowboys.
“Die,” Glasgow said. “We’ve been looking at some homes and now that we finally have the chance, we’re excited
“I’m very excited, very excited,” said fan Randall Glasgow.
Despite being big Rangers fans, this is the first time the Ramirez family has seen Globe Life Field in person.
“First time at the stadium, I’ve never been to a baseball game, so I’m excited,” Claudia Ramirez said.
While Rangers fans headed straight to the stadium, the Cowboys’ tailgaters enjoyed a pregame party in the parking lot.
“I think it’s going to be a challenge and the offensive line will definitely take a hit,” Cowboys fan Corey Johnson said.
The Rangers now find themselves vying for attention, but their fans will argue that their game tonight is still better than the preseason.
“The Texas Rangers, definitely a preseason for the Cowboys, I personally think they’re really boring,” Johnson said.
Some of these fans may leave in shock, as Highway 360 runs north-south, just east of the entertainment district Southbound closed due to construction.
This can cause many people to go home in the early hours of the morning.
