TikTok reportedly has a “secret” button that employees can use to “heat up” a video and make it go viral, apparently seeing some great success.

That’s according to a Forbes report, which said they had spoken to six current and former TikTok employees and also produced internal documents from the agency.

This has apparently been used to lure influencers and brands to the platform, increasing their view counts and thus creating partnerships between them and TikTok.

TikTok, owned by ByteDance, has become a hub for viral video content.

TikTok told Forbes that heating is used to “diversify the content experience” and only a “small number” of U.S. employees are able to approve its use. However, it should also be used to “push important information”.
