Tariq, now known as “The Kid Corn” on social media, is sharing his favorite food with others this year grateful.
The 7-year-old Brooklyn native went viral with a video declaring his love cornHe joined the Hulk in his hometown of City Harvest on Monday afternoon, donating 50,000 cans of corn for Thanksgiving boxes along with the brand’s mascot, the Jolly Green Giant. It is the first and largest food recycling center in New York City.
The brand also gave away an additional 40,000 cans of other vegetables, a limited-edition apron that read “I’m a Big Corn Fan,” and featured Tariq’s voice sending holiday wishes at the event, which was attended by more than 270,000 attendees.
Last week, Green Giant announced a holiday partnership with Corn Lovers, who will work together to “elevate corn from a simple side dish to a thanksgiving table This year,” according to a Press release.

“What’s Thanksgiving without corn?” Tariq asked. “Thanksgiving is actually a holiday about corn. I mean, if you can have corn at some point, every day can be a holiday – but it’s a day we can stay home family, watch a big military parade, and then eat corn. Lots and lots of corn. This is my favorite day of the year! “
The partnership involves young sensations creating delicious new Green Giant corn-centric side dish recipes, featured on the Harvest in the Valley float Macy’s The Thanksgiving parade, of course, in addition to donating jars of his favorite golden morsels.
“We’re excited to partner with Corn Kid this Thanksgiving, as his passion for corn rivals The Green Giant himself,” Kristen Thompson, B&G Foods senior vice president and president of frozen vegetables, said in the announcement. “Corn Kid has a big heart, and we’re excited to help him share his love of corn with his community this Thanksgiving by making a generous donation of our canned vegetables.”

The viral star first appeared on Videos about Occult Therapywhich posted interesting snippets from an interview with host Julian Shapiro-Barnum.
“For me, I really like corn,” Tarek said at the beginning of the original video, clutching his own grilled corn with a stick. Shapiro-Barnum then asked the child what he likes about food. “Corn has tasted good since someone told me it was real,” Tariq replied sweetly. “But when I tried it with butter, everything changed! I love corn.”
Music group The Gregory Brothers, also known on Youtube as Schmoyoho and Tik Tokturning the interview snippet into catchy mix It went viral on TikTok.
The Corn Kid was later named South Dakota’s official “Corn Ambassador,” and Gov. Kristi Noem signed an executive proclamation announcing his new title. Tariq also visited the state’s Corn Palace.
