TIME Hotels installs free EV chargers at two hotels in Dubai

[ad_1]

UAE-based hospitality company TIME Hotels has installed two electric vehicle (EV) chargers at two of its properties in Dubai, the TIME Grand Plaza in Al Qusais and the TIME Oak Hotel in Barsha Heights.

TIME is responding to guests wishing to charge their electric vehicles while staying at the hotel, especially those staying at TIME Oak and TIME Grand Plaza. Therefore, as part of their ongoing overall corporate green campaign to not only reduce TIMES’ carbon footprint, but also to raise awareness and encourage good environmental practices among all stakeholders, the decision was made to invest in EV chargers in both hotels.

TIME chose the Post eVolve smart charging station, which can charge two electric vehicles at the same time and can be easily mounted next to a pole, optimizing their available parking space.

According to experts, on average, an electric car emits more than three times the carbon emissions of an equivalent gasoline car. The EU study found that electric cars emit an average of 75 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer, compared with 240 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer for a petrol car of the same size.

CEO Mohamed Awadalla said: “The reviews from guests are extraordinary, not only from those who regularly drive to Dubai from places like Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates, but also from local guests about the move. Appreciate.”

“In addition to overnight stays, we now have guests for meetings or lunches and dinners with colleagues who find our EV chargers very convenient. They can charge a normal EV from empty in about 4 to 10 hours, while Some hybrids can be charged in less than two hours,” he added.

Era, which celebrated its tenth anniversary earlier this year, has long been a strong advocate and market leader in environmental issues, employee benefits, social responsibility and ethical governance (ESG). Most recently, TIME participated in a Recycle, Reforestation, Repeat program with the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), collecting over 1,500 kilograms of waste paper for recycling.

In addition, TIME is working with WWF and the Emirates Foundation for Nature to secure several sustainable projects to support a number of conservation projects, including the restoration of 10 hectares of mangroves in the UAE’s priority seascapes, creating a resilient coastal ecosystem.

TIME also participated in a “give and take” campaign during Ramadan and successfully donated more than two metric tons of rice, which was sent to the Emirates Red Crescent.

In recognition of its continued support, TIME has also been awarded the CSR Label certification by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce for the eighth consecutive year, with an awards ceremony to be held later this month.

Overall, TIME has received 79 local, regional and international awards from industry professionals, government and humanitarian organisations over the past decade. – arab trade news agency
