TIME Hotels named CSR Leader by Dubai Chamber of Commerce

UAE-based hospitality company TIME Hotels has been awarded the Dubai Chamber CSR Label for the eighth consecutive year.

Introduced in 2010 to reward companies for their commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the CSR label is awarded to companies based on a performance score on seven different criteria.

These include Human Resources (Training, Development, Benefits, Emiratisation), Customer Relations, Business Development, Procurement, Environment, Health and Safety, Innovation and Community; Dubai Chamber also measured impact in four key areas, namely the workplace , markets, communities and the environment.

According to the Dubai Chamber of Commerce’s 2022 report, TIME Hotels scored a whopping 81.3% overall, 9.5% higher than the market average.

Mohamed Awadalla, CEO of TIME Hotels, said: “Receiving this official label for the eighth consecutive year demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our people, the environment and wider social responsibility.

“It also enables us to compare our own performance with that of other like-minded and forward-thinking companies in Dubai, for whom CSR is an integral part of their overall corporate strategy and corporate values.”

TIME Hotels’ recent CSR achievements include the installation of electric vehicle (EV) chargers at two of its Dubai hotels, participation in the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) Recycling, Reforestation, Repeat programme, and partnership with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) , collecting over 1,500 kg of waste paper for recycling.

TIME participated in a “give and take” campaign during Ramadan and successfully donated more than two metric tons of rice, which was delivered to the Emirates Red Crescent Society and distributed free iftar meals to taxi drivers.

In addition, TIME has raised funds for Children’s Cancer Hospital in Cairo and Shefa Al Omran Hospital in Luxor, Egypt, and launched Happy Fridays, a diverse and unified program aimed at creating a more positive work environment where employees Can be dressed in their traditional or national clothes. Dress for work on Friday.

“Our employees are our most valuable asset, so we will continue to provide them with a diverse, safe and healthy work environment. This includes regular health checks, as well as prostate and breast cancer awareness programs,” Awadalla said.

As a certified Green Key hotel group, TIME has implemented several environmental policies over the past 12 months, such as tracking gasoline, diesel and LPG consumption, to monitor and ultimately reduce its carbon footprint. TIME continues to strengthen its commitment to the environment through the implementation of an environmental policy and annual plan, and has developed a “Dos and Don’ts” and “Dos and Don’ts” checklists covering various areas in front of and behind the house.

TIME has also introduced a Supplier Code of Conduct, including supplier audits, which provide systematic and independent checks to determine whether suppliers meet approved quality and safety terms.

Additionally, looking ahead to the rest of this year and beyond, TIME plans to launch several sustainability projects that will enable the group to phase out up to 80% of single-use plastics. – arab trade news agency
