Timothee Chalamet says all the directors he has worked with have had “a very strong vision.”
The “Call Me By Your Name” star insists he’s never encountered an example of a person in charge on a movie set arguing with colleagues over their creative vision.
He told SFX Magazine: “I wish I wasn’t pretentious enough to babble on the list, but I think Denis Villeneuve [‘Dune’]Greta Gerwig [‘Little Women’]Luca Guadagnino [‘Call Me By Your Name’ and ‘Bones and All’] with Paul King, who I just worked with [on ‘Wonka’] … they have a very strong vision.
“It’s not my experience, but you’ll hear horror stories from other scenes, with millions of opinions in the room.”
The 26-year-old actor plays Lee on “Bones and All,” a cannibal who falls in love with Maren, played by Taylor Russell, with whom he has been “eager” to work.
He said: “I saw her in The Waves, when it came out three or four years ago.
“She’s someone I’ve always wanted to work with, and we’ve circled a few other projects that haven’t come to fruition.
“This one happens to be that one.”
Speaking of his complex character, he recently said: “With Lee, the illusion of control is based on feeling for anyone, not even interacting with anyone – Lee’s pain is cannibalism.”
