Titanfall series director Steve Fukuda has confirmed he’s working on a brand new IP for developer Respawn, and the studio’s director Vince Zampella has shared his thoughts on the new project.
in a new interview axiom, Respawn director Vince Zampella revealed that Steve Fukuda, the mastermind behind Titanfall, is currently working on leading a “very small” team for the company. One is developing a brand new IP for developers.
“Our mission is to have fun in new things,” said Zampella, further discussing the new IP.

While this is exciting news for many, it does call into question whether Titan Case 3 is the company’s top priority. In recent interviews, the development team has been open about the need to make sure the project is a fit and has a clear direction for development.

Titanfall is a destructive shooter game that first launched in 2014
The first Titanfall game was released nearly a decade ago in 2014. The series has maintained a steady fan base since its release, but has never really been able to match Call of Duty and other major shooters.

Steve Fukuda’s next project will be Respawn’s new IP
Before working on the Titanfall series, Fukuda was known for writing and developing some of the early Call of Duty games, including Modern Warfare 2. This new IP could be some sort of spiritual successor to Titanfall, or a brand new rebirth project.

However, given Fukuka’s experience with shooters and more multiplayer titles, there’s a good chance this new IP will follow in his footsteps.
