The annual India-Russia summit is the highest institutionalized dialogue mechanism at the leadership level of the two countries. To date, 21 summits have been held since the first summit in Moscow in November 2001. The last summit was held in Delhi on December 6, 2021, with Russian President Vladimir Putin traveling to the Indian capital.

The 32-year-old was arrested by Russian authorities in Moscow for possessing cannabis oil and later released in exchange for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, 55. Bout was sentenced to 25 years in prison by US authorities.
