Kick off, let ’em fly, Louisville. top golf It’s finally opening.
The massive entertainment center with more than 100 drive-thru seats will welcome customers at the Oxmoor Center for the first time on Friday. Officials behind the three-story complex at 301 Oxmoor Lane, near the Interstate 264 off-ramp to Shelbyville Road, say golfers shouldn’t be the only ones looking forward to a glimpse.
“It’s okay if you’ve never picked up a club before. Everyone is welcome at Topgolf and we’ve found that your skill level doesn’t really affect how much fun you have with us,” Gen Gray, the company’s chief operating officer, told The Courier Journal. “We’re more about relaxing and having fun, and we can’t wait to welcome our new Louisville neighbors.”
Once the complex has its grand opening weekend, those Louisville neighbors will be able to hit as many golf balls on the driving range as they please. Booking Friday’s event is currently fully booked, but Hollie Patierno, director of operations for Louisville Topgolf, said visitors are welcome.

The facility’s close proximity to the Oxmoor Center is a bonus – it’s a separate building from the East Louisville Mall, but the venue shares the same property, making it easier for shoppers to drop by a few times and have a drink at one of the several bars, which serve plenty Unique bourbon and beer in Louisville.
“It’s something I do myself when I come to the market,” jokes Patierno. “I’ve drank more beer in the past 30 days than in the past five years.”
Golf is a big selling point for the new venue — after all, it’s in the name. Topgolf Louisville includes 102 tees equipped with “Toptracer” technology, allowing players to track the speed, distance and altitude of their golf balls, while giving them the opportunity to play interactive games such as Angry Birds and Jewel Jam. The outdoor bay is climate controlled, with fans to cool the players in warmer weather and heaters to run in the colder months.
Still, Topgolf Louisville has other options to keep attendees entertained who may not be interested in clicking the link — including bars on all three floors serving local drinks, something only one Topgolf facility in Las Vegas offers . Patierno said she wanted to bring the best of Louisville’s brewery scene to the venue, giving the venue a more local feel while offering a bourbon menu featuring local favorites such as angel’s jealousy and old forester.
For those not interested in golf, Topgolf Louisville also has other games such as foosball, shuffleboard and shuffleboard. Attendees will also have access to free WiFi.
“Topgolf is fun for everyone,” Patierno said. “We’re everyone’s game, and when we say that, we mean it.”

There is also ample parking. Louisville Topgolf sales director Jeanine McKenzie said the site’s car park is the largest since Topgolf started operations in the UK in 2000 and in the US in 2005.
Needless to say, this place is built for big parties, with enough room to seat up to 1,800 people. Groups of eight or fewer can schedule a visit for up to two weeks in advance, and larger parties can book up to a year in advance. And you don’t have to go out and check wait times — Patierno says potential players can download the Topgolf app and join the waitlist in advance.
Topgolf Louisville is the company’s 82nd facility worldwide and its first in the Bluegrass State, employing more than 500 local employees. Patierno said company officials have high hopes for the opening weekend and beyond.
“We expect to be very popular, which is fantastic,” Patierno said. “Having 102 parking spaces that are open for more than 12 hours a day really gives us the opportunity to get a lot of people here.”
